And jumping in the middle of the owners, smelling of strangers, enjoying the closeness of those who give affection, no matter much.

I should think a little more and enjoy life more and worry less about what may come .

Neptuno, photowalk with David, Laura and Juan 2012

Gracias David.

David is one of the photographers I've had the luck to know thanks to Flickr, visited the island for the first time in 2012 and now in 2013, always with the resolve to take photos of our homeland.

I think I've said it before but it won´t be enough to emphasize this, his kindness, his frankness and friendship are things that accompany another excellent human being I could see first hand.

This time it came with one of the most special gifts you can give an islander like me, it was all about photography, came with several dvd's that willingly shared with me, with John and with the Academy to which I belong.

I can not say thank you, for your kindness and the effort involved in compiling this information. Learning for me is of the greatest treasures of this world, I do not think I can spend one day without studying something new.

Thanks David.

Resting

Imagine how many times this boat and its owner sailed to seek a living or just pass the time dreaming of the open sea.

This day in the port of Casilda surprised me the range of people, professions that swarmed around the boats, some doing maintenance, others preparing to leave the next day, I met farmers, fishermen, doctors and even an architect combining his work with the art of the sea.

The light was our best ally in this morning and the warmth of Cubans, his clear and open communication always completed a precious moment.

Tomando un diez

Tomando un diez by Rey Cuba
Tomando un diez, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

I still remember when my father received a Chinese bike from his Company for being a vanguard worker at the begining of the 90´s .

We were all riding excited about our new bike, I could stop taking 3 buses to get to college and could navigate freely through the streets of Havana, without depending on anyone or anything.

The first few days with the euphoria of the moment not notice much weight, but these Chinese bikes, worth their weight in gold, my house was on the fourth floor of an old building in front of me every day 15 m of narrow stairs, going up and lower.

After arriving at the University, as it was not standardized the use of bicycles still, there was no parking, so when I was on the 7th floor classes, going with my books and my shoulder China.

After 5 months, Russian bikes came with a third of their weight and with a big smile on the bike I trade to the new one with less weight on my shoulders.

12 years in 4 different bikes passed by without barely get out of these alternative means of transport.

How crowded memories of time in a single photo. I hope you have a good day.

The country is populated by vendors of hope and reason to the daily skirmishes to mistrust.

Some left the rest of their retirement, others started in their blossom years, life in the cities of this island had changed around small selling spots, the market had begun to appropriated of our minds and today our line of thinking goes around where to invest today, how much to take as advantage and get in return.

Hopefully over the next few years we do not lose our essence as human beings

While Filip was shooting photos at Laura and me, these little guys were curious about the cameras or what we were doing and what was the purpose, but each time one of our cameras was raised to eye level and within a composition, they both smiled and hid their faces.

Generations... Habana, Cuba, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Yesterday Spiderman climb the Habana Libre hotel (at the background of this photo), it climbed without ropes or any other method of security, only his bare hands and feet were the climbing tools, more than 150 m in 20 mins and with some wind. I'm still thinking about it, because only a week ago, I was on the 24th floor taking some views of Havana, to exhibit in the gallery of this hotel as part of its new anniversary.

Let´s go...Pinar del Río, Cuba

This place was located through our road to Soroa, We stop as Laura so a tree interesting beside the road, after walking to the tree we discover a small village full of every sort of places and people for a photographer.

Filip asked to some of the neighbours for a photo, they said yes, later he shoot a bike and some of the kids, dogs, caw skin and skull, it was a perfect place along the road.

Filip and Els blend with the residents as any other Cuban, for us was a perfect stop.
