"Cuba received the visitor 2 000 000 only a few days ago to be maintained for 8 consecutive years succeed" .............

www.realidadesdepedernales.com/2011/09/cuba-ha-recibido-d...

This could be the headline of any cuban newspaper any of these days.

It seems that each of those low of an airplane come with a precious burden, assessed in species, experiences, accents, all that novel in the eyes of the native, who are awaiting the change of the gold nuggets by mirrors.

Centuries have passed since the "conquest" and yet we keep with open arms to new illusions.

A wonder in Wonderland...Old Havana, Cuba

www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5EnGwXV_Pg

It seems to me that this wonder go hand in hand with this beautiful song.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5EnGwXV_Pg

When I was a kid La Maravilla, used to be a very small restaurant, later became an inn in the neighborhood. This road beame so familiar, i used to studied accross the park.

One of my school friends lived on the second floor and was named Damaso the tallest in the classroom .... is a Wonder how all those memories came suddenly to my mind.

Estatica Milagrosa...Habana, Cuba

Several scholars have come to the term "static miraculous" to explain the persistence of buildings that, according to the most basic physical laws, they should have crumbled long ago and remain stubbornly in place. (Havana, in large part, there is a miracle.)

As Raul said [http://www.flickr.com/photos/raulito39/] in many of my pictures, keep up the memories of the past can cost a lot, He points to Laura [http://www.flickr .com/photos/50791611 @ N04 /] and me the following
.
"For me they are scenes lived in another era, scenes of my childhood, in that perhaps lies the sentimental appeal of your photos."

So we live on this island marked by the past, as if we had been stopped in time and modernity walks in the bodies of those who live and breathe for this island, but the essence remains unchanged over time.

I hope you all have a wonderful beginning of the week, a hug from this Havana that capriciously plays the time machine.

Cuba stopped in time, like many of its inhabitants, looking in the past images and hoping for a future.

Time keeps going inexorably.

Later I will write something .... I'm a bit rushed......

.......I´m back

I wonder why looking for above had always give me so much pleasure ...... you begin to imagine how life could be down there, the men which ants moving from side to other, talking, laughing, breathing every breath, in large spaces sometimes, in narrow spaces some others, spaces of the mind, physical spaces, spaces that make a general way to behave and take life.

I love these big spaces, I use to inhale deeply and see that we only occupy a small part of a whole, we are not all, nor are we always all, we pass through any of its streets, road and back home, the known place, the shelter of our mind, that space no one can violate.

Havana breathes sweetly from this higher ground, as someone will always said, you should be like father, like son.

Orange breath....Habana, Cuba

When the muse does not visit me, I usually hold to the known, the stories told by others, the words of those who preceded me, sometimes the ideas seems to be out of me and it´s time to hold to my imagination and try to convert colors to alleviate the weight of each day.

On this daily walk sometimes I forgot the blessing of every sunrise and certain actions may lead me on paths already known. .

And more than once I use to dream in a future which seems to me full of hope like butterflies fluttering colors in my room.

Sky on the Rocks..............Cienfuegos

A set of 3 different approach to the same situation or place. Is like seeing the world through different eyes or moments on one person life. I enjoy a lot doing this photo and later working on the 3 versions. It was shoot in the 2010 summer in Guajimico, Cienfuegos.

Have a nice weekend my friends, see you on Monday. I make a toast with you my friends, i rather drink a cool beer, is hot around here.

Palace Hotel Stories

Since the beginning of the twentieth century began building in Havana apartment buildings to rent, initially two and three floors dedicated to obtaining the maximum economic benefit of the land, but it was after, the period known as the "fat cows" construction was generalized and progressive growth in height, under codes stylistic eclecticism, art deco and neo-colonialism.

Alaska Buildings, 1924, in the street 23 and M.
The Palace Hotel, corner of G and 25, with ten floors and a tower of three levels that years later would be embedded in three other plants that will be added.

Hotel Presidente Calzada and G in both 1928, among others, were the pioneers of the height.

For Enrique Pineda Barnet director of La bella del Alhambra, moved to the Palace Hotel on G Street and 25 as a child, who was at that time a modest little hotel for diplomats, and he at the age of five started to sing wherever, included the little hotel´s restaurant.

1931 - Opening of "Radio Popular Cubana" DCMC (925 Kcs.) On the roof of the Hotel Palace, studies were on the roof, which was then the only apartment hotel in Cuba, administered by the architect José Pérez Benitoa.

The roof above us...Trinidad, Cuba

Some humans feel they are owners of this planet, some believe dominate all and cover almost anything. Will the mega tasks be in the hands of others?. Are they part of the past?.

For many it is the desire to linger somewhere and leave us a bit.

But I prefer to see this magnificent sky that changes as fast as our lives and almost always above our heads.

Inconformidad Cubana

— Tu has salvado muchas vidas, voy a retribuírtelo hijo mío.

Hope is on top..........Trinidad, Cuba

Reaching the top may be the goal, the climax and fulfillment of our dreams, but do we stop to enjoy along the way?. Sometimes we realize when we got up the landscape we leave behind was also important.
