Visit the highways and byways of Holguin traced me to my holidays as a child, our visits to the mountains, clean streams running down from the mountains, the animals around, orchards, walks, smells, everything came to my mind at once.

I wanted to show my daughters wore the typical houses of the farmers of the mountains, at least as I remember from my childhood, but gave me some work to find some to keep these features, I came to this place in one of those back roads from the Antilla´s town from Holguin.

We arrived early in the afternoon to a place known only by the photos of others, got up a steep hill that led us to the top, the car was moving slowly allowing us to be watching the city that lay at the foot of this elevation, top rises above the sea in about 261 m above the valley that the city sits at about 130 m, if your stairs ascend about 430 steps.

The wonderful evening breeze, humidity impressive, some intrepid climb the stairs and reach the top in full swing, maintaining his fitness by training who knows why.

Laura and I kept silent, looking for the best places, waiting for the light sneaking through the clouds at times. The evening went on, almost dusk and we were the only ones who were accompanying security, the city below danced amid the celebrations of a carnival, a summer party where many of the locals involved to relieve the heat of the night .

At the end of the valley erupted a storm of lightning, guided city lights starting this this cross that marked the beginning, foundation, first steps of the town that lives and grows daily.

Panamerican dreams

Pan American Stadium, remember I was studying the third year in college, we moved east of the city to support the construction of the town that would welcome athletes from all over America in the year 91. It seems like yesterday and yet already 22 years have passed, how many times must have been stripped this tree village and from that date.

Without realizing the days days turned into years, many of the dreams were fulfilled, I know my dreams were modest, but dreams where love, family and friendship have been involved. I hope many can fulfill their dreams soon, meanwhile I'm a daydreamer.

A trip to photograph places away from home often provoke much excitement, this one was in Pinar del Río, I was driving near Viñales way and I found a dam that rains from last week had led to unusual levels.

Just around the corner a place where the green time seemed different and seemed in no hurry. Despite the noon is not suposse to be the best hours for photography, the weather shows a dropped cloudy sky with soft diaphanous light slumber.

I stopped the car in a safe place at the edge of the road without disrupting traffic, remove tripod and camera, I set a few meters away from the road to take pictures of this heavenly place when behind me two trucks appear on the road, one of them detour only about 10 m from when I was standing by, it went off the road and into the forest.

The back truck stopped as well and the driver asked what had happened, the truck you see here at the bottom with white helmet, had lost direction. Laura on the other side of the road and I looked in disbelief, a few feet beyond and everything would have been different.

I tried not to give much importance for both got ahead taking photos, but there are times and places of life, where a second is enough to change everything ...
