Secretos de un papalote

Secretos de un papalote by Rey Cuba
Secretos de un papalote, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Hear me "puro" (old person)... why the "papalote" (comet) didn´t fly away? … … .could be the long tail ? ..dont by such a nut.

Listen to this young boy shouting at this old man and for response he only sketched out a smile, almost i was just about to strongly reproach him by his lack of respect.

Until i realized that with great familiarity and affection, one of his hands alighted on the shoulder of this old person with grey hair .

I was getting closer and noticed that the boy was still speaking loud and the old man was looking at the boys lips with to much attention.

Driving through life and getting old did not let him listen to as once he should enjoyed the sea caressing the shore.

Then with much more love and without lowering his tone the boy told him ......... you "puro " , now i´m sure this kite is going to fly high.

The old man was stuck in this space, and the boy to an unusual speed, started to walk barefoot by the "diente perro" (sharp-edged rock from the shore) moved to stretch the rope and start the flight of his kite.

As a gift the day the prize with a strong breeze and the "papalote" joined the concert of clouds that flocked to the afternoon, waves as enrapt audience applauded again and again against the shore, while the paper dreams took flight.

The boy told the old man near the ear, "puro" , you know the truth and the whole world to this art of fliying comets......... together were taking turns to take rein their dreams in a November´s afternoon.

Varadero´s colour

Varadero´s colour by Rey Cuba
Varadero´s colour, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Y no me pareció justo.

Nothing like a bit of color to brighten this gray week, as my friend Ramon said, we all need a bit of color.

This is the union of 4 pictures, following the colors of the morning, but as i like the B&N version , i will added also.

I thought uploading up as the first one, but then i said to myself, that after seing it, are going to think, Hey Rey ...."Varadero without colors!!!!!!!! So i didn´t make it that way..

As parents we try each day to conceal the world rude that surrounds us, we make a bubble, and sometimes we also create our children a perspective on life that is not real.

Missing little, the lively, television programs, films, is responsible for showing the pretty face of the planet and they grow with the desire to have all goals accomplished.

That is why arriving news like yesterday, shake off the dust and you can say, that magical world collapses as castle of cards.

To show you that the background, it is not white, is full of cracks and if you enlarge them, for sure you will fall in.

I hope that everyone can have a good day, i am looking out for their best colors as always.

Tilikuti

Tilikuti by Rey Cuba
Tilikuti, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Another of the special moments of that memorable day in Matanzas, as we waited the camera battery of Vázquez could be charged, at the home of one of the neighbors of this street and we talked about, we addressed this child with a doll invented.

Tilikuti is the doll´s name he replied to me, a mixture of fabrics and aluminum foil, which he feels proud about, also his truck created by him.

Craggy proud and smiling, that broad are our horizons when we are children, we don't need to much to be happy.

Sometimes i wonder when we change our behavior, when society trapped us under his invisible mantle and become pattern of our steps.

I rather remember his smile and the desire to catch the world with one thought.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Do not get too patterned, does not worth it.

Mother & Teen

Mother & Teen by Rey Cuba
Mother & Teen, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Difficult age for both those that are beginning to be men and women as well as for us parents to accept them as such. T

he world continues its unstoppable step and we went from been like those boys, then we consider ourselves more adults, to become the young fellows "jovenazos" we are today, with more experiences and less physical activity than before.

They begin to question our views that until yesterday, were almost irremovable, it is difficult but very nice seeing them grow up and make their own decisions.

Hopefully when i arrived my time i am not cloud the mind and to be able to accept much more, because it is inevitable as that the earth moves.

Good luck with your task Maye.

Film Dreamer

Film Dreamer, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

As an artist his mind is always going from some place to other, creation is his first goal, ideas are always around him, as muse visit him all the time.

He maybe is not as famous as he wish for, but is famous enough for it´s past students, for his friends, for the people he knows, this following 25th will be opening his next personal exhibition called "Comodin" (Wildcard), at the end is a resume of his past, present and future realities and ideas.

A lot of friends are helping every way they can to full fill his dream, a designer, a car driver, a sewer woman, myself, his family with the patience and devotion, others with the exhibition words, there are so many people involve in Vazquez project that beyond it´s secure success, "Comodin" it´s already part of our lives.

Which artist doesn´t need this, that goes beyond any other recognition or awards.

Good luck brother.

Mucha suerte hermano.

La banda Polvoron

La banda Polvoron, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

And the Shortcake´s ("Polvoron") band doubled by the corner and they sharpened course to the camera, all they wanted to be keep in memory and how good postmodern guys, asked me to be seen in the screen "pantallita".

They were returning from his run, after the seller of polvorones (matanzas), mantecado (camaguey ) or tortica (Havana) as this dessert is named in different parts of Cuba.

Showed a face marked by joy and the remnants of its delicious snack.

Again marked with their smiles and short steps a new moment of happiness that photowalk day.

Dis.....continuidades

Dis.....continuidades by Rey Cuba
Dis.....continuidades, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

According to some dictionaries discontinuities can be classified into avoidable, of first kind and second species, of course we are talking about math functions.

We are trying to establish since we are born a continuity in doing, in our words, in the way to behave and it is possible that we reprint some pattern imaginable, however when you get into account how many hops have been done to get to where you are today, you wonder what has been the continuity with which you can be classified.

Then it's possible that within the discontinuity we´ll have another pattern, humans like to label all around and classify.

This bridge serves as an step to pedestrians and has at its center a conductive water, tomorrow I will bring another photo more complete from it.

Have a continuous or discontinuous day, choose your own mathematical function today.

Little dreams fisherman

Little dreams fisherman by Rey Cuba

A family consisting of two girls, a child (our fisherman in scene) plus a adult roamed the low two bridges near.

When they saw us they acted as we were not there and i was happy trying to make pictures while they enjoyed the challenge of capturing some fish near the dock.

When we were leaving the scene the boy asked his aunt ... " aunt are they taking this for the TV, are we going to be on TV?, you happen to know in which program they work at?... ............. I was enjoying while getting out of the dock, with a little smile on the lips, because it was in its memory the possibility of being famous for a few seconds in front of the small screen.

How many of us we have not dreamed as this small fisherman .... a hug and have a great day.

Salud de Hierro

Salud de Hierro by Rey Cuba
Salud de Hierro, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

It is difficult concentrate on everything that surrounds us, sometimes just walk along or simply assume that certain things must operate in the manner it should be.

But my mind was reluctant to believe that at some point was not established, that can change, move, exit of inanimate or simply improve.

Sometimes the path i walk becomes difficult and dusty however I really enjoyed it if i am looking back on the road that surrounds me.

Get to the top is always a challenge, but not get lost in the way is a major challenge.

This is another of the 28 bridges of the city of Matanzas, we need to pay another visit to this city because we never saw the bridge that was built in the nearby that worked for the harvests of sugar cane.

Yumuri 2.15

Yumuri 2.15 by Rey Cuba
Yumuri 2.15, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Matanzas has several rivers in its extent and some run through your city and the Yumurí river is one of them.

No doubt that the word yumurí is of indigenous origin. It has an extension of 15 km approximately.

There is a legend where it is said that this word comes from the cry that gave the tainos (culture that dominated the island of Cuba to the arrival of Europeans in the Americas) at launch from one of the cliffs in the valley.

It is said that there were many Taino indians who chose to commit suicide before you tolerate the treatment they received.

Then, the legend has it that stopped on a cliff and giving the cry of "Yu muri", or I die, were thrown into the abyss.

Don't know if the legend of the Yumurí is true or not, but this if it has happened in other cultures of the world, and it is very true that in the valley and the area of Matanzas next there had been villages tainos.

In our photowalk we took pictures in three of the bridges across the river, one for passers-by, another for cars and the third for rail vehicles.

The photos below are the last of the three bridges. In the next few photos the i describe a little more than what was for me the most special moment of the photowalk.

Last Saturday we went outside Vázquez (with his troop) , Laura and i (with our) to make photos in Matanzas. the bridges´s city.

Gilberto, i want to apologize for not invited you this time, but there were to many of us in the car, mostly was full of dwarfs ..... sorry my brother.

While we walked around the city we succeeded very interesting stories at least for us, but the children were watching this activity as a little bit boring.

Was stopped trying to take some pictures of this first bridge in Matanzas that connects the area with the motorway toward Varadero, when a child with his mother looks at me and told me .... "Shot a photo to me"......proudly rise his arm and the tape flies with the wind and smile at me, was the first of the best moments of the day.

I hope you all begin with a lot of joy this week.

Today dawned a gray rainy day, but there I would love to go later home and prepare for the next photo from this story.

Gate keeper

Gate keeper by Rey Cuba
Gate keeper, a photo by Rey Cuba on Flickr.

Havana has gradually been wearing of steel in the outskirts of doors and windows.

Encountering a building where swarm various blacksmiths and forms, is part of the urban landscape that surrounds us.

It is worrying how we're going by circling, moving away from the world and before you just get to the balcony and enjoy the breeze, talk with your neighbour. Today the balcony is closed and isolated, sometimes don't want to look through the bars separating you from the outside world.

Not only the children have been locked in their rooms with their computers and games, we also in the name of security and protection of what we have .......
