Filip and Els through Pinar

This past week my friend Filip Meutermans traveled to Cuba accompanied by his wife Els, Filip is a committed photographer and a good human being, he was agreed to visit the small private photography school named Academy Cabrales del Valle in the garage of two remarkable Cuban teachers.
His vision about photography, first steps, past visits to Cuba and some other part of the world were added as part of the interesting stories that he shared with the Academy´s students, We all ended satisfied and amazed by his vision, modesty and commitment.
We met each other a couple years ago, during his last visit to La Habana, this time he traveled with the company of his wife Els. Laura and I got the opportunity to enjoy their contagious smiles, the hundreds of stories and the profound knowledge of live and it's essense. What a perfect combination of hours We enjoyed.
On Saturday the four of us traveled to Soroa, Pinar del Rio and We stopped many times to learn from Cuba's people and it´s light. The weather conditions couldn't had been better, a mixed of light, clouds and cool temperatures were our allies during the wholed day.
Filip´s sense of humor, always sharing his stories and point of views turned that day in my favourite photowalk I ever run into, is good to have the chance to meet good human beings, people who shake the daily gray and convince us that, dreams must be turn into reality.

La semana pasada mi amigo Filip Meutermans viajó a Cuba acompañado por su esposa Els, Filip como el fotógrafo comprometido y buen ser humano que es, acordó visitar la pequeña escuela privada llamada Academia fotografía Cabrales del Valle, en el garaje de dos maestros cubanos.
Su visión de la fotografía, los primeros pasos, visitas anteriores a Cuba y alguna otra parte del mundo se sumaron las historias interesantes que compartió con los estudiantes de la Academia, todos terminamos satisfechos y sorprendidos por su visión, modestia y compromiso.

Nos conocimos un par años años, durante su última visita a La Habana, esta vez viajó en compañía de su esposa Els. Laura y me dio la oportunidad de disfrutar de sus sonrisas contagiosas, los cientos de historias y el conocimiento profundo de vida y su esencia.

¡Qué combinación perfecta de horas que disfrutamos.

El sábado los cuatro viajamos a Soroa, Pinar del Río y nos detuvimos varias veces para aprender de la gente de Cuba y su luz.

Las condiciones del tiempo no podrían haber sido ser mejores, una mezcla de luz, las nubes y temperaturas frescas fueron nuestros aliados durante el día.

El sentido del humor de Filip, siempre compartiendo sus historias y puntos de vista convertiron este día en mi Photo-walk favorito, es bueno tener la oportunidad de conocer buenos seres humanos, personas que sacuden el diario gris y convencernos de que los sueños pueden convertise en realidad.
