Típicamente las ciudades han ido modificando sus arterias, edificaciones, espacios constantemente. De alguna manera debido a múltiples factores La Habana no ha sufrido grandes cambios e inclusive por sus arterias continúan pobladas de autos del pasado siglo.
La esquina de Prado y Neptuno es popularmente conocida por la canción de la orquesta de Enrique Jorrin "La Engañadora", en una de esas esquinas se erige hoy el Hotel Parque Central.
En los bajos del edificio que antes allí se encontraba había una cafetería que visitaba cuando niño con mis padres, luego cuando joven en el primer piso vivía un amigo mío y fué el lugar donde sirviendo como cantinero de una fiesta de 15 conocí de los efectos del alcohol.
No puedo evitar cada vez que transito por esta calle recordar memorias de un pasado que no volverá, hoy nuevas memorias se escriben y otras muchas personas tienen otra visión de lo que es hoy La Habana.

Typically cities have been changing their arteries, buildings, spaces constantly. Somehow due to multiple factors Havana has not undergone major changes and even its arteries continue populated by cars of the last century.
The corner of Prado and Neptuno is popularly known for the song Enrique Jorrin orchestra "La Engañadora" in one of those corners today stands the Hotel Central Park.
In the basement of the building before there was was a cafe I visited as a child with my parents, then as a young man on the first floor lived a friend of mine and was the place where I serve as a bartender for the first time in a party and met the effects of alcohol.
I can not help every time I walk down this street to recall memories of a past that will not return, new memories are written today and many people have a different vision of what is today Havana.

Old Havana streets
Hace poco mientras regresaba con Laura de tomar fotos para un encargo, me atrapó nuevamente esta locación , hurgando un poco en su historia me encontré con sus múltiples usos... desde cuartel de caballería en 1764, sede del Ministerio de Defensa, hasta sede administrativa del Museo Nacional hoy en día...
Es la calle Empedrado famosa por varias razones, fue la primera vía pavimentada de toda la ciudad y en ella se encuentra la famosa Bodeguita del Medio habanera.
Este rincón habanero me sirvió de motivación suficiente para recorrer nuevamente la ciudad en busca de su historia.
It is beautiful to look into the history of places in Havana, this building is on the corner of Monserrate and Empedrado.
Recently while returning with Laura to take photos for an assignment, This location caught my attention, looking at its history the place has had many uses ... from cavalry barracks in 1764, houses the Ministry of Defence until administrative headquarters of the National Museum today ...
Empedrado street is the famous for various reasons, it was the first paved road in the entire city and it is the place where the famous habanera Bodeguita del Medio is located.
This corner served me as a motivator to tour the city again looking for its story.

Time for colour
Time started once more the cycle, a new year, new resolutions, time to compare, a take notes of what was done and what needs to be done.
The last couple weeks were full of happiness, joy and laugh. I went to visit Miami city and rejoins my brothers there, once more the time give me prove of what friendship turn into brotherhood taste. The feeling of my family growing make perfect sense.
I only one to be thankful to the people who open their arms and take me as family, I want to thank my family for the perfect days there. Once more I didn't experienced the past of days. Those two weeks goes by and only happiness gathers me.
Thank to all of you that make this new 2014 look special.
Comienza nuevamente un nuevo ciclo, un nuevo año, nuevas resoluciones, es tiempo de comparar, tomar notas de lo que hicimos y lo que queda por hacer.
El último par de semanas me llene de felicidad, de alegría y risa. Fui a visitar la ciudad de Miami y reencontrarme con mis hermanos allí, una vez más, el tiempo me demostró el valor de la amistad que podemos llamar hermandad. El sentimiento de que mi familia crece fue perfecto.
Sólo me queda agradecer a las personas que me abrieron sus brazos y me tomaron como parte de su familia, quiero agradecer a esta crecida familia por los días perfectos allí. En dos semanas el tiempo parecía a no continuar y solo camaradería, amor y hermandad me completaron.
Gracias a todos ustedes que hacen de este nuevo 2014 parezca especial.

Barbero de solar
Sucedió como un flashazo, pase justo frente a la puerta de este edificio y la escena me recordó los momentos que esperé para que un barbero amigo de mis hermano me cortara el cabello cada mes en el pasillo de su casa.
La tenue luz, los olores, sensaciones de todo tipo se agolparon en mi mente mientras capturaba esta escena que me remontó unos cuantos años atrás.
It happened like a flash, pass right in front of the door of this building and the scene reminded me of the times I waited for a friend of my brother's barber cut my hair every month in the hallway of his house.
The dim light, smells, sensations of all kinds rushed through my mind as I captured this scene that traced me a few years ago.

Remainings
A hard dry season hit Trinidad at the beginning of this year, the colours looked surreal on this side of the country, now a lot of rain had come and other problems surface.
Al inicio de este año una fuerte sequía azotaba Trinidad, los colores parecían surrealistas en esta parte del país, ahora la lluvia golpeó con fuerza y otros problemas aparecen.

Cuban afternoon...
The family was gathering after a while and the afternoon was getting at sunset time, I happen to had my gear on the trunk of the car so I started preparing myself to capture the moment using a translucent umbrella and a Metz 48 AF1 triggered with RF603 Yongnuo by the left side of the camera and using a CTO 1/2 gel.
La familia se estaba reuniendo después de un tiempo y aprovechando la puesta de sol sol, saqué flash, sombrilla, trípode y cámara del maletero del coche y empecé a prepararme para capturar el mejor momento posible utilizando un paraguas traslúcido y un flash Metz 48 AF1 disparados con unos RF603 Yongnuo, colocados ar la izquierda de la cámara y utilizando un gel CTO 1/2.
