Hershey inventariado
A lo largo de los años he querido escapar de las clasificaciones, de los encasillamientos, de los nombres, claro que eso no quiere decir que lo haya logrado y no termine siendo clasificado, encasillado, amarrado de acuerdo algun criterio en particular.
Siento que la humanidad tiene una necesidad imperiosa de clasificarlo todo, nombrarlo todo a veces por un miedo inmenso a dejar de existir.
La tarde de Hershey puede "clasificarse" como un momento entre amigos, puede ser inventariado como un "Photowalk", necesita ser definida como un intercambio entre fotografos.
Yo prefiero sentir que la tarde de Hershey estuvo repleta de sonrisas y miradas, sentida y compartida con las tardes que otros seres humanos en cualquier parte de este planeta dedican a mirar el mundo en 35mm y terminan siendo clasificados como "fotografos".
Bueno les deseo un clasico día de 24 horas lleno de clasificadas sonrisas e inventariados abrazos.
Over the years i have wanted to escape from the classifications, typecasting, of the names, of course that this does not mean that it was achieved and does not end up being classified, box, tied up of agreement some criterion in particular.
I feel that humanity has a compelling need to classify everything, naming it all sometimes by a fear immense to cease to exist.
The afternoon of Hershey can "classified" as a moment between friends, you can be inventoried as a "Photowalk", you need to be defined as an exchange between photographers.
I rather feel that the Hershey´s afternoon was filled with smiles and glances, felt and shared with the afternoons that other human beings in any part of this planet engaged to look at the world through 35mm and end up being classified as "photographers".
Taking this into account i will wish you all a classic 24-hour day filled with classified smiles and inventoried hugs.

Hershey at west times
Ayer finalmente nos fuimos Laura www.flickr.com/photos/50791611@N04/ , Gilberto www.flickr.com/photos/gisaso/, Sabrina y este servidor a conocer el pueblo de Hersey.
Mucha de su historia me fué referida por Gilberto que había visitado el pueblo antes y conocía de su historia.
Hago un breve resumen Hershey ( si el mismo de los famosos chocolates), compró un terreno de tierra y se construyó en parte de sus áreas un central azucarero gigantesco, durante esos años Cuba era conocida por su capacidad azucarera, el central quedaba a 45Km de La Habana y 45Km de Matanzas.
Junto a ello se planificó y se construyó una vía electrica, la primera y unica en Cuba durante esos tiempos.
Así podía transportar lo mismo los empleados que el azucar tanto al puerto de La Habana, como al de Matanzas. Nada que le quedo un negocio cerrado, de esa manera los famosos chocolates de la epoca contaban con azucar cubana.
Hoy quedan los restos de esa historia y este pequeño pueblo está lleno de atractivos y memorias.
Durante los siguientes días les publico mas fotos de este maravilloso lugar, como siempre los Matanceros tan amables y educados, nos permitieron pasar una tarde muy agradable, la suavidad de la luz fue una de las delicias que nos acompañó.
Estoy seguro que Gilberto y Laura van a compartir mucho tambien en los días por venir.

Yesterday we finally checked out Laura www.flickr.com/photos/50791611@N04/ , Gilberto www.flickr.com/photos/gisaso/ , Sabrina and I to made our Photowalk and knowing the people of Hersey.
Much of its history, i was referred to by Gilberto that had visited the village before and knew it.
A brief summary Hershey ( Yes it is the same of the famous chocolates), purchased a plot of land and a giant sugar cane mill was built on part of their areas, during those years, Cuba was known for its sugar capacity, the central was 45 Km away from Havana and 45Km from Matanzas.
Next to this was planned and built electrical railroad, the first and only electrical in Cuba during these times.
The railroad will allow to carry the employees and the sugar using both the ports of Havana, as the Matanzas one, in this way, the famous chocolates at the time had with cuban sugar.
Today, there are the remains of this history and this small town is full of attractions and memories.
During the following days I will publish more photos of this wonderful place, as it always the Matanzas people characterized by been so friendly and polite, have allowed us to spend an afternoon very pleasant, the softness of the light was one of the delights that accompanied us.
I am sure that Gilberto and Laura will share much in the days to come.

Mi pedacito de Habana
Desde mi Habana les deseo a todos unas felices fiestas, sueños a cumplirse y motivaciones para seguir respirando.
Desde lo alto de Mi Habana los convido a dejar volar la imaginación y sonreir un poquito mas cada día.

Atardecer Matancero
Nada como la suave luz de la tarde del "invierno" cubano, es difícil encontrar ese tipo de luz el resto del año, los rayos nos llegan a la isla tan directamente, como llegan el resto de nuestras preocupaciones.
Así llega el fin de año y los cubanos se aprestan para celebrar estos días, olvidando las penas del resto del año, ignorando que hacer cuando llegue el nuevo año.
Como decimos en buen cubano, votamos la casa por la ventana y veremos después que pasa. Así ha sucedido desde que tengo uso de razón, nos envolvemos en la suave brisa de los días festivos y dejamos volar la imaginación.
Estos días nos hacen sentir que todo se puede, pensando que el año que comience vendrá distinto, será diferente y tendremos unos días mejores.
Pareciera como si la suave luz de nuestro "invierno" trabajase como genio de la lampara todo lo envuelve y todo lo puede.
Nothing like the soft light of the evening of the cuban "winter" , it is difficult to find this type of light the rest of the year, the rays hit us directly, as the rest of our concerns.
So comes the end of the year and most of the Cubans are preparing to celebrate these days, forgetting the penalties of the rest of the year, not knowing what to do when it comes to the new year.
As we say in good Cuban we throw the house by the window, and then we will see what happens.
This has happened as long as I remember, we engage in the gentle breeze of the holidays and we let our imagination fly away.
These days make us feel like everything can be possible , thinking that the year that begins will come different, it will be different and we will have some better days.
It seems as if the soft light of our "winter" work as a genius of the lamp, solving everything around us and making anything possible.

Pesca de domingo
Orgulloso este niño de un grupo de cinco me mostraba su captura, antes de su trofeo, otro de los niños saco un pullover viejo del fondo del río.
Matanzas siempre ha sido un lugar de encanto, hay mucho por fotografiar y encontrar entre sus gentes.
Al fondo el conocido como puente de la Plaza sobre el río San Juan, otro de los legendarios puentes que enaltecen el paisaje arquitectónico de la ciudad de Matanzas. Erigido en 1916, fue el primero en construirse de hormigón armado en la provincia y el segundo en el país. El presidente de turno era Menocal.
En esta obra, planeada por el ingeniero Armando Macías López y confeccionada por Conrado Martínez, por lo general no se realizó ningún trabajo relevante de mantenimiento, aunque durante la década transcurrida entre 1910 y 1920, las aceras se ensancharon y se cambiaron las barandas.

At the background the bridge known as the Plaza over San Juan river, another of the legendary bridges that extol the architectural landscape in the city of Matanzas.
Erected in 1916, was the first one to be built of reinforced concrete in the province and the second in the country. Was built under Menocal´s government .
